Gymnema is a wooden climbing bush native to India and Africa. Leaves are used to make medicines. Gymnema has a long history of use in Ayurvedic medicine of India. The name of the name for the Gymnema means "to destroy sugar". People use gymnasium for diabetes, weight loss and other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses. Gymnema leaves is properly safe when taken by mouth appropriately for up to 20 months.
